A freight train carrying household appliances built in China left Wuxi in the Jiangsu province of East China for Moscow, Russia, early on November 16. Since August, these China-Europe train journeys have occurred twice each month at the Wuxi West Railway Station Logistics Park.
The well-known local foreign trade company LittleSwan from Wuxi created the washing machines and dryers that were on board. According to Zhu Ping, deputy head of the administrative committee of the logistics park, the company sells roughly 10 million of these devices each year, with 80 percent going to Russia.
Historically, the majority of Wuxi’s local enterprises engaged in foreign trade exported goods via the sea and the road.
