The China National Convention Center (CNCC), the biggest convention centre in China and located in Beijing, and Constellar, a reference partner in Asia for the organisation of events and innovative spaces, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In 2023, this will make it possible for Constellar and the CNCC to examine potential strategic alliances and to promote communication in the MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions) industry between Singapore and China.
As economies and borders reopen, MICE remains a dynamic engine of growth. With an impressive backlog of international events scheduled for 2023 and beyond, Singapore’s MICE sector has demonstrated a strong rebound. This can also be seen in the rising demand from event planners to hold their events at the Constellar-managed venue, EXPO Singapore, where reservations have so far surpassed pre-Covid levels by over 65%. Constellar’s four major trade exhibitions, Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia, BuildTech Asia, Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC, and Singapore FinTech Festival, each attracted over 87,000 anticipated participants in 2022. Thanks to this MoU, Constellar will strengthen its worldwide footprint in Greater China in 2023 as it continues to increase its portfolio through organic and inorganic expansion.
With the reopening of China’s borders this month, additional foreign events and gatherings are anticipated to return to Beijing. More than 50 Fortune Global 500 firms and more than 100 of China’s major corporations are based in Beijing, one of the world’s greatest metropolitan economies. The strategic alliance will enable the development of new events and the sharing of talent and information by utilising the combined knowledge and experience of both parties in light of the evolving event landscape and the growing demand for in-person events.
