Students, family members, and staff at PA Cyber helped their communities today by working together to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. They gave time and home items to a number of charities, such as Binky Patrol, Community Cares, Sweet Cases, Ronald McDonald House, and others.
According to Laurie Richards, a spokesperson of PA Cyber’s Greensburg regional office, “Martin Luther King Jr. Day is an opportunity to give back to our communities and assist others.” “He inspired people to act morally by offering assistance. Everybody can be great because anyone can serve, he once stated. All you need is a heart that is full of grace.”
Each of the nine regional offices of the cyber charter school hosted charitable events.
• Participants at the Greensburg office worked with the neighbourhood Binky Patrol chapter to create blankets for foster children. The purpose of Binky Patrol is to serve as a constant reminder that foster children are loved.

• Employees and students at the Harrisburg location created no-sew blankets for Community Cares, a Carlisle homeless shelter.

• For foster children, families and employees at the Pittsburgh-Warrendale office painted and packed duffel bags known as “sweet cases.” The candy containers were stuffed with blankets, teddy animals, toothpaste, and other personal objects by the participants. Sweet cases make sure that foster children do not have to move their belongings in a trash bag.

• Employees at the Wilkes-Barre location created scarves for the needy. Later on, scarves will be given to a nearby nonprofit group.
The Allentown, Erie, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh-South Side offices gathered gifts of food, clothing, and household items to help homeless people and children between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 40 East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania 18701.
