In an announcement made today, L2 Aviation, a leading provider of global avionics services such as engineering, certification, installation, and manufacturing, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Klatt Works that outlines the framework for certification and support of the newly developed Klatt Works SAVED system.
A unique wearable system created by Klatt Works, the SAVED system, adds augmented reality technology to existing pilot oxygen masks, allowing critical flight information to be viewed in real time.. When a pilot cannot clearly see the flight instruments or the windscreen when there is smoke in the cockpit, SAVED provides a see-through display inside the oxygen mask that displays HUD symbology with video feed from the nose camera during an emergency situation. This enables the aircrew to land or ditch the aircraft in case of a smoke emergency with the required visual references to land or ditch the plane during an extreme smoke emergency

As part of the certification process, L2 Aviation and Klatt Works plan to certify the system across a wide range of aircraft types, including Boeing 737, 787, Airbus A320, A330, Gulfstream G650, G550, as well as many more aircraft models, from commercial airlines to business aviation to military missions.
