As part of the 2023 Snapdragon Summit, UL Solutions, a global leader in applied safety science, today announced that its UL Procyon® Artificial Intelligence (AI) Inference Benchmark for Windows demonstrated the performance of the Snapdragon® X Elite Platform in terms of AI inference.
There are several components that make up an inference engine, including hardware and software that make decisions based on the rules and information stored in a knowledge base. Depending on the device and other factors, the performance of an inference engine may vary.

UL Procyon AI Inference Benchmark for Windows evaluates the inference performance of Windows operating system devices using common machine vision models, comparing the performance of multiple inference engines from different vendors. The insights that technology companies gain from these insights will assist them in evaluating inference performance and comparing devices for AI-related applications.

UL Procyon AI Inference Benchmark for Windows utilizes standard machine vision workloads, such as image classification, image segmentation, object detection, and super-resolution, that are used to perform AI inferences. A neural network is used to execute these tasks on the device's central processing unit (CPU), graphics processing unit (GPU), or dedicated AI accelerator, in order to compare the performance of different hardware systems.
