At the W.Media Cloud & Datacenter Convention & Awards 2023 (Mumbai CDC), over 700 delegates and dignitaries from India's booming Cloud and Datacenter industries attended the event, including C-level executives, end users, buyers and key decision makers, in order to celebrate Mumbai's vibrant data center market.
The Mumbai CDC was held at the hotel St. Regis. In the heart of Mumbai's vibrant Lower Parel district, you will find the Regis hotel. In addition to the ceremonial lamp lighting, the conference also featured a number of powerful panel discussions where the top notch experts in the Cloud and Data Center industries discussed a wide range of topics, ranging from the scalability of buildings to the use of renewable energy options and sustainability to liquid cooling, to the emergence of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), the Internet of Things (IoT), and supply chain management, to name a few.

According to Sanjay Bhutani (Chief Business Officer, Adani Connex), who spoke at the first power panel discussion on building to scale, while building data centers to scale, we must ensure they are sustainable and safe, adding, "Sustainability must go beyond power; it has to be viewed holistically, not just from a power standpoint." A great deal of attention needs to be paid to water management and decarbonisation."
According to Syed Mohammed Beary (Founder and Chairman of Beary's Group), there is a distinction between passion statements and fashion statements for sustainability when it comes to green building standards, saying: "There is a difference between passion statements and fashion statements for sustainability.".
A panel discussion was moderated by Nick Parfitt, who is responsible for Research, Content, and Production at W..The media. Sumit Mukhija (ED & CEO, ST Telemedia GDC) took on the concept of scale itself, saying that it is a relative term, and its definition will change over the next five years as the industry develops.".His fellow-panelist, Sujeet Deshpande (CEO and Founder, Lumina CloudInfra), also agreed that things were changing rapidly and this would have an impact on the Cloud and Data Center business in the future.. A number of other movers and shakers in the industry of Cloud and Data Centers shared their insights into the key factors affecting the development and growth of Indian digital infrastructure. In order to develop a suitable workforce for the Cloud and Data Center industry, Manish Shangari (VP of AECOM) made a powerful case for effective skill building. During this presentation, Gaurav Dixit (Service Delivery Manager, Strategic Alliances, Lefdal Mine Data Center) advocated for the adoption of a comprehensive green agenda.
