Retailers need to take real and demonstrable action in order to reduce the carbon footprint of their business when they look to take advantage of international growth opportunities. Three tips for emissions-conscious global growth have been released by nShift, the global leader in delivery management software.
Some 87% of retailers that already trade internationally intend to expand further, and 33% intend to grow significantly in the next five years. Global expansion presents a significant growth opportunity for retailers. Consumers are losing patience with brands that fail to reflect their commitments to sustainability, even though 10% of brands that focus solely on domestic markets plan to expand internationally. They also expect a sustainable shopping experience and they are less likely to shop with a retailer if they do not feel satisfied with their eco credentials. Even though retailers face this challenge, there are three things they can do to reduce carbon emissions and enter new markets at the same time."
