This morning during the programme of the 2022 NAMAD Annual Conference at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel, the National Association of Minority Automobile Dealers (NAMAD) and S&P Global Mobility (previously IHS Markit) presented the seventh annual Diversity Volume Leadership (DVL) Award.
The awards ceremony honours businesses that are leading sales among consumers of colour.
According to US Census figures, ethnic minorities will become the “future majority” by the year 2045.
According to Damon Lester, president of NAMAD, “the reality of the ‘future majority’ resonated throughout this year’s awards ceremony, illustrating the significant influence ethnic auto consumers have on the economy and focusing light on the lack of diversity that still remains in the auto industry.”
In addition to addressing and educating the industry about the need for a dealership that reflects the increasingly diverse population of the United States, NAMAD and S&P Global Mobility partnered during the awards programme and conference to celebrate brands that are driving sales leadership to ethnic consumers.
