Doha, the capital of Qatar, made the decision to use data and AI technology to strengthen its transportation in order to handle the massive amount of traffic for the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM in November. Hisense, a company with more than 20 years of experience in the field of intelligent transportation, works with Doha to develop a pilot programme for intelligent transportation. Based on real-time video and GPS trajectory monitoring functions, the project will be finished and put into operation before to the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM, ensuring efficient and safe traffic and lowering emissions during matches.
Hisense entered this market in 1998, and has since spent the last ten years dominating China’s intelligent transportation market and working on a number of significant projects.
Hisense and the government of Addis Ababa, the nation’s capital, formally joined forces in March to develop a smart bus system that will be finished in 21 months. With this technology, users can access real-time bus schedules via mobile applications and digital information displays. Additionally, the system enables public transportation companies to carry out real-time monitoring, remote control, intelligent dispatching, analyse the relationship between passenger flow and transport capacity, resource allocation, and maintenance supervision, laying the foundation for future scientific decision-making.
