25 October 2022, BRYAN COUNTY, Georgia and SEOUL, South Korea /PRNewswire/ — The new manufacturing facility for Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) LLC at the Bryan County Mega site was officially opened today by Hyundai Motor Group Executive Chair Euisun Chung, Governor Brian P. Kemp, company representatives, and state and local officials.
Following a morning groundbreaking on site, the corporation showcased “advanced technology and exceptional human achievement” with a wide range of exhibits for hundreds of community members in attendance at a future technology expo at Enmarket Arena in Savannah.

Five months ago, the firm and its affiliated suppliers announced a $5.54 billion investment that includes plans to build a new battery production plant as well as a variety of cutting-edge Hyundai, Genesis, and Kia electric cars (EVs). Over the coming years, HMGMA will add more than 8,100 jobs as it works to build a reliable supply chain for EV batteries and other EV parts on the American market. The first half of 2025 is when commercial production is anticipated to start at HMGMA’s new smart factory.
