Tencent Cloud, the company’s cloud division, today declared that it has been named a Niche Player in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services for 2022. (CIPS).

The Gartner Magic Quadrant has named Tencent Cloud for the third year in a row.

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and integrated platform as a Service (PaaS) vendor evaluation is done by Gartner Magic Quadrant for CIPS. The evaluation criteria assess the vendor’s executive ability, which includes product and service, overall viability, pricing and sales execution, market responsiveness, and market execution, as well as customer experience and operations, and completeness of vision, which takes into account market comprehension, marketing strategy, sales strategy, offering and product strategy, business model, vertical and industry strategy, innovation, and geographic scalability.

We think Tencent Cloud’s status as a Niche Player in the Magic Quadrant is due to its emphasis on providing services to multinational corporations operating in China or Chinese multinational corporations expanding abroad, as well as its investments in network infrastructure to support the low latencies needed for gaming workloads along with low-code platforms, video on demand, security, database, and virtual video meeting services.
