China is now prepared for a new phase of agricultural and rural development as the efforts to promote rural vitalization are in full swing, capitalising on its success in eliminating absolute poverty.
The Communist Party of China (CPC) stressed in its report to the 20th National Congress that the nation would continue to prioritise agricultural and rural development, consolidate and broaden its progress in eradicating poverty, and strengthen the groundwork for food security on all fronts.
Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasised advancing rural revitalization across the board and working tirelessly to achieve agricultural and rural modernization in his first inspection following the conclusion of the 20th CPC National Congress.
During his Wednesday–Friday visits to the cities of Anyang in central China’s Henan Province and Yan’an in northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, he stressed the importance of prioritising the development of rural and agricultural areas as well as consolidating and extending China’s successes in eradicating poverty.
