Veatch Ophthalmic Instruments (“Veatch”), a top U.S. distributor of ophthalmic equipment, has been acquired by Advancing Eyecare (“AEC”), North America’s leading provider of ophthalmic instruments. The transaction’s financial details weren’t made public.
Headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, Veatch has a more than 30-year history of supplying ophthalmic technology to vision care clinicians throughout the United States. Veatch and AEC will broaden their product and service offerings to their combined clients and take advantage of synergistic growth potential with a shared commitment to best-in-class customer support.
In addition to providing a one-stop shop for ophthalmic equipment and services to a diverse customer base that includes independent eye care practitioners, national chains, hospitals, and teaching institutions, AEC, which has its corporate headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, has seven market-leading brands in eyecare instrumentation. AEC offers the largest and most knowledgeable technical sales force and equipment service staff in the business to fully support customers in running a vision care practise. AEC is led by an experienced leadership team with substantial industry understanding.
AEC teamed up with Cornell Capital, a private investment business with headquarters in the United States, in 2022 to spur expansion, broaden the company’s market appeal, and improve AEC’s capacity to offer premium, cutting-edge goods and services to an expanding clientele. Veatch’s accession solidifies AEC’s position as the industry leader in eyecare instruments.
