Jem Davies Sworn in as NAG Board Chair

Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) announced the nomination of Jem Davies as new Chair of the Board of Directors at SC22, the world’s largest supercomputing event.

With Davies’s expertise, NAG will be better able to implement its strategy shift, innovate its products and services, and investigate new opportunities in the market. Stephen Todd, the current Chair, is stepping down after 9 years, and will be replaced by Davies.

Davies is an accomplished business leader and technologist who will help the company expand into new strategic industries by leveraging his knowledge of machine learning, data, and processor technology (from general-purpose to domain-specific processors). He played a crucial role in negotiating many acquisitions that ultimately led to the creation of new businesses within the technological giant Arm, where he held positions as senior leader such as Vice President, Fellow, and General Manager for divisions such as their Machine Learning Group. Davies has served as a non-executive director for a wide range of organisations, including for-profits, non-profits, and standards organisations.

NAG CEO Adrian Tate remarked, “Jem’s strong background in the processor market is a very welcome addition to NAG.” “When expanding NAG, we will learn from Jem’s past successes and failures in launching and growing businesses, as well as finding and securing capital. We’re ecstatic to have such an accomplished business leader take the reins at NAG.”
