Talon-A is a rocket-powered, autonomous testbed that can fly a variety of hypersonic flight profiles while carrying specialised payload experiments. It is launched from the Roc aircraft. Talon-A configuration 1 is a disposable vehicle. It is expected that the next-generation Talon-A vehicles will be able to fly at hypersonic speeds multiple times before needing to be recycled.

Stratolaunch CEO Dr. Zachary Krevor said, “We’re pleased that AFRL has chosen to support the flight of our first hypersonic vehicle, and we’ve enjoyed working with the esteemed team.” We hope to start offering flight test services to AFRL and other clients soon.
