Arlington, Virginia has chosen RapidDeploy Radius Mapping as its new 9-1-1 map, and RapidDeploy, the industry leader in cloud-native mapping and analytics solutions for Public Safety, has announced the news today.
Multiple 9-1-1 centres in the Washington, DC area, including Alexandria and Montgomery County, are live with Radius Mapping, and more will go live before the end of the year.
By incorporating mobile caller location data, GIS authoritative data, and cutting-edge communication tools into the 9-1-1 workflow, Radius Mapping helps discover callers faster and improves the outcome of incoming calls to the 9-1-1 centre. First Responders can more precisely pinpoint the location of a 9-1-1 caller, whether they are in a car or on foot, thanks to data collected from mobile handsets, which now account for more than 80% of all 9-1-1 calls. Both the call data and the network call data are displayed on maps incorporating reliable GIS data such as metro lines, z-axis, and jurisdiction boundaries. 9-1-1 operators can talk to callers over the phone, send them messages with built-in language translation, or even transmit a live video feed.
