At the International Forum’s annual gathering, which kicked out on December 2 in Guangzhou, world leaders urged cooperation and multilateralism to address the climate catastrophe.

In order to battle climate change, the world community was urged by Xie Zhenhua, China’s special envoy for climate change issues, to defend multilateralism and strengthen international collaboration.

The world needs to work together to combat climate change, according to Laurent Fabius, IFF board member, president of the French Constitutional Council, and former French prime minister. Despite the hostile international environment, he urged nations to set aside their differences and take part in the reform of the global financial system to assist developing countries in reducing their emissions.

Mark Tucker, Chairman of HSBC, stated during his remarks at the opening ceremony of the annual meeting that without leadership and cooperation, regional and global solutions cannot be developed or put into practise.
