Mayfield and Silicon Catalyst Form an Alliance to Support Innovation in Semiconductor Startups

27 0

Leading semiconductor incubator Silicon Catalyst and top venture capital company Mayfield have teamed up today to support startup innovation. In accordance with the conditions of their partnership, Mayfield will finance and mentor the majority of seed stage businesses accepted into the Silicon Catalyst Incubator/Accelerator, as well as assess them for potential follow-on investments.

The partnership is a result of Mayfield’s belief in the revival of silicon, a phenomenon that has gained momentum in the wake of Moore’s Law’s plateau. Mayfield has collaborated with the founders of several stealth firms as such as Alif Semiconductor, Frore Systems, Fungible, Graphwear, NUVIA (bought by Qualcomm), Recogni, and several more during the past five years. The company has a history of investing in renowned semiconductor firms for more than 50 years, including Cypress, Inphi, LAM Research, LSI Logic, MIPS, Qtera, S3, and Sandisk.
