Yantai just took home a new national crown, placing third on the 2022 National Logistics Hub Construction List.
Unlike any other city in Shandong province, Yantai operates the European, Russian, Belarusian, Central Asian, and Southeast Asian lines of the China-Europe (Central Asia) Freight Trains. According to the Information Office of Yantai Municipal People’s Government, Yantai Port has the eighth highest cargo throughput among China’s coastal ports.
The physical layout of the national logistics centre in the Yantai port includes two major sections and nineteen functional areas. Through its extensive logistical information platform and distribution system, it is able to achieve resource integration and cooperation. Goals for its future growth include becoming a roll-roll transportation hub and a commercial vehicle transfer base in Northeast Asia; a gateway hub for land-sea multimodal transport in the Yellow River Basin; a storage, transfer, and distribution hub for vital strategic materials like energy and ore in northern China; and an international logistics hub based on the Bohai Rim and facing Northeast Asia.
