In light of the Orion spacecraft’s successful splashdown in the Pacific Ocean, Jacobs (NYSE:J) congratulates NASA on the accomplishment of the 25.5-day Artemis I mission to orbit the moon.
The unmanned test flight of Orion, propelled by the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket, travelled more than any spacecraft capable of carrying people safely: 1.4 million miles around the moon.
Jacobs has helped NASA on this historic journey from the beginning to the end, including as a member of the crew that pulled Orion out of the water. The first test flight for the Artemis deep space human exploration programme, which seeks to land the first woman and the first person of colour on the moon and pave the way for a sustained human presence in deep space, is Artemis I.
