The second Global AI Summit saw the establishment of the Smart Cities Challenge, which is still accepting entries through January 8th, 2023. The Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA), the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Riyadh Region Municipality, and the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing (MOMRA) have partnered strategically to host the competition.
The competition, which will take place virtually, aims to create cutting-edge solutions to enhance the municipal landscape in the Kingdom’s cities, to identify and reduce visual pollution through technology, and to find data- and AI-based solutions that take advantage of both local and global expertise.
In order to position the Kingdom as a leader in the elite of data-driven economies, the Smart Cities Challenge aims to cultivate and develop talent and capabilities in smart cities, data, and AI. Additionally, it targets data scientists, AI experts, and students globally with awards that can reach “one million” Saudi Riyals.
