Following the successful completion of a proof of concept (POC) project, of which an overview and video can be seen here, BlackBerry Limited (NYSE: BB; TSX: BB) and PATEO, a leading Internet of Vehicles (IoV) technology service and product provider in China, today announced that one of China’s largest automakers has selected a BlackBerry IVYTM-powered PATEO Digital Cockpit for the automaker’s next-generation, all-electric model.
The partnership enables the manufacturer to quickly provide cutting-edge new applications to help improve the in-vehicle experience for both drivers and passengers. The premium BlackBerry IVY-enabled vehicle model, which is scheduled to go into mass production in 2024, will also feature Electra Vehicles, Inc.’s BlackBerry IVY-powered unique battery management solution. This solution is intended to offer real-time, personalised recommendations for EV battery range management to improve EV range and reduce drivers’ “range anxiety.”
