True Solid-State Scanning LiDAR sensors will be integrated into windscreens thanks to a partnership between Wideye and Opsys Tech Ltd., a leading provider of proprietary True Solid-State Scanning LiDAR technology. Starting on January 5, 2023, a prototype of a LiDAR-integrated windscreen will be on exhibit at CES in Las Vegas. The seamless integration of sensors behind a completely compliant automotive glass will be shown in this LiDAR-integrated windscreen.
Opsys Tech CEO Rafi Harel noted, “This experiment shows how well our LiDAR sensors can perform in many regions of the car.” “Our system is very flexible. It will give automakers the flexibility they need to integrate LiDAR into their ADAS and safety systems in the future.”
A straightforward and potent sensor device made possible by Opsys’s patented True Solid-State Scanning LiDAR technology can be easily customised for use in a variety of integration scenarios, including places inside the passenger compartment. The potential distortion that the windscreen may contribute can be compensated for by true solid-state scanning LiDAR with a precise beam pattern. The Opsys sensor doesn’t have any moving parts, which keeps it cool and quiet while operating and satisfies the comfort requirements of contemporary, noiseless electrical vehicles while providing best-in-class performance.
