COMMON INTRO:

Canon and EPSON printers are two of the most popular printer companies, both of which are noted for producing high-quality prints, particularly in digital printmaking.

Each of these brands has unique qualities that will astonish you. Canon and EPSON printers, like any other piece of equipment, have their own set of benefits and drawbacks.

V.S.

CANON INC.

Canon Inc. is the global pioneer in imaging technologies with its branches spread out globally. Canon India, which was founded in 1997, is effectively selling a wide range of advanced contemporary digital imaging equipment and solutions all over the country. Canon’s product portfolio includes Large Format Printers, Digital Production Printers, Commercial Printers, Managed Document Services, Inkjet & Laser Printers, Multi-Functional Devices, and alot others.

SEIKO EPSON INC

Seiko Epson Corporation, or simply Epson, is a Japanese multinational electronics firm that is one of the world’s major makers of computer printers and related information and imaging technologies. The company is headquartered in Suwa, Nagano, Japan, and produces inkjet, dot matrix, thermal, and laser printers for consumer, business, and industrial usage, as well as scanners, laptop and desktop computers, video projectors, watches, and point-of-sale systems.

WHY CHOOSE CANON?

To understand this best, let’s consider its show stopping model – Canon Pixma TR8620 which is a fully featured inkjet printer for the office that offers a healthy blend of fantastic features, good performance, and exceptional picture quality.

You’ll enjoy quick and easy copying and printing, as well as faxing, thanks to an automatic document feeder and a built-in duplexer. The only serious gripe we have is the exorbitant cost of ink. The Canon’s image quality, though, is where it really shines.

The versatile Pixma TR8620 offers great glossy photo prints – thanks to a 5-ink cartridge system – making it a better option if you include printing snapshots for a scrapbook among your printer uses. While the print quality on basic documents and copies is good.

WHY CHOOSE EPSON?

Owing to its combination of advanced performance, wide feature set, and remarkably low ink costs, the Epson EcoTank ET-4760 is an excellent choice for busy offices.

The EcoTank earns its moniker by printing thousands of pages each month while also keeping ink prices low thanks to refillable high-capacity ink tanks. The printer comes with a first set of ink bottles, which should last for roughly 7,500 pages (black) and 6,000 pages (colour) before you need to refill them.

With prices of less than a cent per page, you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck even if you buy new ink.

WHO SHOULD BUY IT?

The Canon may not be the ideal choice for high-volume printing, despite its fast performance and excellent document print quality. Ink expenses are higher than typical, and adding a fifth ink cartridge didn’t assist with operational costs. The cost of printing was approximately 20 cents per page, even with high-capacity ink cartridges.

WHO SHOULD BUY IT?

It’s a good choice for any busy house or small team because of its quick printing and copying, though you might prefer having a second paper tray. Regardless, the printer’s small size and two-sided printing capabilities make it a winner for everyday productivity.

DESIGNING

The TR8620’s control panel boasts a large 4.3-inch colour touchscreen that pivots upward 90 degrees. Although there are no fixed inputs for operation (just the power button), the touchscreen is snappy and the menus are easy to explore.

An SD card slot is located on the bottom left of the front panel, allowing you to print straight from a camera’s memory card.

DESIGNING

The ET-4760’s control panel incorporates a small 2.4-inch colour touchscreen that tilts upward nearly 90 degrees. For stand-alone use, the screen is a little small for accessing menus.

The power, home, and help functions are the only physical buttons on the control panel. There’s a USB connector, an Ethernet port, and a fax port, as well as Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity. There is no memory card slot or USB thumb drive port.

FEATURE COMPARISON BETWEEN BOTH

  • Printing Quality

Although laser printers provide razor-sharp texts as compared to inkjet printers, inkjet printers such as Canon’s Pixma MG3620 and Pixma TS6020 can produce equivalent quality. EPSON’s WF-2760 inkjet printer not only prints crisp text, but it also prints text at the fastest pace among inkjets.

Epson’s WF-6590 provides equally clear duplex text prints, but Canon’s TS6020 produces lighter ones for duplex printing. The TS6020 from Canon produces the sharpest and smoothest PDF text printouts, but the WF-2760 from EPSON can also give consistently appealing results.

  • Glossy photo prints

In comparison to EPSON’s XP-640, Canon products produce more natural-looking prints with greater details in shadowy regions. The majority of models (including the TS6020 and MG3620) create deep red colour saturation, and all models produce bright photographs.

The XP-640 is better for fine details and vivid colours, but it distorts images. WF-2760 generates light-coloured images.

  • Copy & Scan

Canon produces rougher-looking copies but it also has more impressive scan quality compared to EPSON models. Smooth transitions are produced by the Epson XP-640, whereas darker output is produced by the WF-6590 and WF-2760 models of Epson. XP-640 produces rough scans, whereas WF-2760 requires a preview scan before producing a quality scan.
