Tales of success from all over the State of North Carolina are presented to you as part of the 12 Days of Broadband! The North Carolina Research and Education Network (NCREN), built, owned, and operated by a technology non-profit, has been humming this tune for 12 years. Each year, the 12 Days of Broadband event highlights the importance of high-speed Internet and related technology services for North Carolina’s economy, institutions of higher learning, and citizens’ daily lives.
The 12 Days of Broadband will be back from December 1 to December 16, featuring a dozen ways that high-speed connections and broadband affect communities in North Carolina as well as a look ahead to 2023.
According to MCNC President and CEO Tracy Doaks, “opportunities continue to accelerate and become more accessible for all residents and industries as we continue to expand broadband across the state. North Carolina has experienced unprecedented advancements in the capabilities of high-speed Internet, and we can’t wait to once again share these fantastic steps forward with you.
In order to ensure digital equity and inclusion for every resident, young and old, from every background, MCNC has linked some of the most disparate communities over the past 40 years. The 12 Days of Broadband emphasize, as in previous years, how investments in infrastructure, bandwidth, and technology ensure that opportunities for everyone continue to grow and propel economic and social change across the state.
