Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) and CHERY Group have inked a strategic collaboration framework agreement for extensive cooperative cooperation in numerous domains, including products, commerce, and market promotion. The two parties will work together to explore public transportation, the integration of EIC technology for new energy, and battery change services in the fields of buses, logistics vehicles, heavy trucks, and electric ships in order to drive and lead high-quality growth in the automotive industry. This is in addition to the supply of batteries and technical cooperation on passenger vehicles.
The top spot was held by CATL for five years in a row. CATL is the largest battery manufacturer in the world and focuses on the research, development, production, and sales of power battery systems and energy storage systems for NEVs. It provides electric batteries to many well-known car brands, including Mercedes Benz, BMW, and Tesla.
Since 1999, CHERY has been conducting research and development for novel energy technologies. In the area of new energy, CHERY has so far submitted more than 900 patent applications and been granted more than 600 patents, placing it first among Chinese automotive companies and third globally.
In accordance with the “457” technology development plan, CHERY has put into practise four vehicle powertrain platforms, five general subsystems, and seven core technologies for Class A to D SUVs, including all-electric, hybrid-electric, electric with increased autonomy, fuel cells, and other technologies utilising new energies. The first completely functional hybrid DHT in the world has been created by CHERY, and it has the distinct advantage of offering “3 motors, 3 speeds, 9 functioning modes, and 11 gear ratios.”
