After three years of stringent pandemic management, China began to restore regular life on Sunday when the country placed its lowered COVID-19 restrictions into effect.
The country reopened its border ports to cargo shipping as well as foreign and domestic tourists. The application process for passports and visas for business and pleasure has also resumed for Chinese nationals.
Quarantine, on-site COVID-19 testing for incoming guests, preventative disinfection of imported commodities, and sampling inspection of cold-chain food were all abolished.
Mass COVID-19 tests and quarantine regulations will no longer be implemented across the nation. The use of close contacts lists or high- and low-risk zones has also been abandoned.
