Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region has recently implemented a number of regulations to encourage the growth of the “night economy”.

In response, the entire region has actively engaged in “night economy” activities like late-night dining, late-night entertainment, late-night shopping, etc., which effectively convert a “passage of tourists” into a “tourist stay,” thereby igniting nighttime consumption and promoting economic growth.

The “Three Streets and Two Alleys” in Nanning, the ASEAN Culture and Tourism Zone in Nanning, the village of Yueye Dong in Liuzhou, East West Street in Guilin, Rongchuang Tourist Complex in Guilin, and Taiping Ancient Town Block in Chongzuo have all emerged as national-level nightlife tourism and cultural consumption hubs that have served as models for the growth of the “night economy” in Guangxi.

Guangxi recently took “several measures to further promote drinking” to modernise nighttime drinking, proposing to encourage vendors to remain open late and concentrate on growing and building a variety of nighttime cultural and tourist consumption combining nighttime dining, nighttime shopping, and nighttime sightseeing, among others, and endowed with a strong dynamic capacity, in order to encourage all local communities to make efforts for “differentiation,” “specialisation,” and “differentiation.”
