Cipia (TASE: CPIA), a provider of in-cabin automotive solutions for AI computer vision, declared today that it has won a design competition with another Chinese OEM in addition to Tier 1 HiRain. An Australian, New Zealand-made, and South American-sold pickup truck type will feature Cipia’s Driver Sense Driver Monitoring System (DMS). The DMS from Cipia will utilise an OmniVision SoC. Production of the vehicle is anticipated to begin in 2023.
The agreement marks Cipia’s first design win with both HiRain and the OEM, breaking new ground for the company. With this announcement, Cipia will have received 29 design wins from 6 different automakers.
CEO of Cipia Yehuda Holtzman remarked “The fact that a new OEM and Tier 1 chose Cipia’s DMS again shows how dependable and high-quality our technology is and how we can provide drivers with superior driving experiences. With a focus on the US, European, and Chinese markets, we are continuing to advance and broaden our partnerships with new OEMs.”
The Driver Sense software from Cipia employs AI and computer vision to continuously monitor the driver’s condition. The DMS can alert the driver to potentially fatal situations by detecting indicators of fatigue, distraction, seatbelt use, and more.
