A division of Dover (NYSE: DOV), and a market leader in connection solutions for the biopharmaceutical industry, has just announced that its MicroCNX® Series Connectors have won a 2022 Pharma Innovation Award. This honour celebrates progress made in terms of both product quality and production efficiency.
As an alternative to tube welding for low-throughput closed aseptic processing, the ultra-compact sterile MicroCNX connectors are a boon to the biopharmaceutical and cell and gene therapy (CGT) industries. These aseptic connectors were the first of their kind, and they allow for quick and easy tubing connections in compact assemblies.
According to the results of the tests, the novel connector can make a sterile connection up to four times faster than a tube welder.
Connecting two MicroCNX plugs and receptacles takes just three simple actions and requires only minimum training. Tube welding, on the other hand, necessitates a dozen or more processes. There are many obstacles that operators must overcome in order to get a quality weld, including getting the tube welder into place, addressing any necessary equipment maintenance, and using the correct welding method. Failure of welding equipment, malfunctioning welders, or delays in production are avoided with MicroCNX solutions.
