Dan Redington has joined the company as Executive Vice President of Sales for the Americas region, reporting to Ribbon’s Chief Executive Officer and President, Bruce McClelland. Ribbon is a global provider of real time communications technology and IP Optical networking to many of the largest service providers, enterprises, and operators of critical infrastructure to modernise and protect their networks. Steven Bruny will be replaced by Dan when he retires in early 2023.
Dan joins us from Juniper Networks where he had a successful track record expanding their service provider business while collaborating with some of the biggest fixed and mobile telecom providers in the world, including AT&T, according to Mr. McClelland. Dan’s direct experience in IP Routing and Security, as well as in developing high-performance sales groups, will be helpful to us globally as we carry out our strategy to position Ribbon as a supplier of IP Networking and Optical Transport solutions on a global scale.
With more than 30 years of experience managing sales and technical staff members and collaborating with fixed and mobile providers, Mr. Redington is a qualified leader. He has spent the most of his career with Juniper Networks, where most recently he served as the segment leader for North America’s service providers. He oversaw the Customer Team for AT&T, one of Juniper’s biggest service provider accounts, before joining the company. In addition to IP Routing and Switching, Optical Transport, SDN Management, Firewall and Security, and Cloud and Data Center Networking, he has a wealth of experience in a variety of other technologies as well.
Mr. Redington expressed his excitement about joining Ribbon at this point in the organization’s transition. Service providers all around the world are making significant network investments in order to provide enhanced broadband and mobile services, and Ribbon has a clear strategy to increase their position in this large market potential.
In the first quarter of 2023, Ribbon will say goodbye to Steven Bruny. “Since GENBAND bought Steven’s business, Aztek Networks, in 2012, he has played a crucial role in the Ribbon culture for more than 16 years. Being the founder and CEO of numerous technology companies over the course of his career, he truly is an entrepreneur. I want to express my gratitude to Steven for all of his leadership and contributions and my best wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement “Mr. McClelland stated.
