The world’s largest provider of electronic components and automation products, Digi-Key Electronics, has stated that from December 1–7, 2022, it will match donations given to KiCad up to a maximum of $15,000.
An open-source software programme for electronic design automation is called KiCad (EDA). KiCad aims to give professional electronics designers the greatest cross-platform solution for electronics design. In order to keep KiCad usable by novice and inexperienced users as well as meeting the requirements of expert users, every effort is taken to conceal the complexity of sophisticated design capabilities.
According to Cody Walseth, digital product owner at Digi-Key Electronics, “We believe it’s important for design tools and resources to be readily available and user-friendly for engineers across the globe, and KiCad is a great example of a free, open-source application that helps make professional electronics designers’ jobs easier.” “We continue to be proud sponsors of KiCad and the fundraising initiatives that aid in their capacity expansion and spread the use of their open-source software to more engineers worldwide.”
