SANY Heavy Industry (“SANY”), a leading manufacturer of high-end equipment, now has two certified vault factories as a part of the prestigious World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Lighthouse Network (GLN).

The second factory in the worldwide zware industry to receive certification is the No. 18 Factory in Changsha, following the SANY Factory for Bore Machines in Beijing.
The GLN, established in collaboration with McKinsey, is well-known among tyre factories everywhere. These factories are pioneers in the fields of digital manufacturing and Industry 4.0, advancing to the highest levels of intelligent manufacturing (IM) and digitalization.
In response to the cyclusschommelings in the steel industry and the large-scale but low-volume production of steel components, SANY has made full use of flexible automated production, artificial intelligence, and appropriate Internet of Things solutions to set up a digital and flexible manufacturing system for steel machinery in the No. 18 Factory. The improvements are clear-cut: SANY targeted a 123 percent reduction in production capacity, a 98 percent increase in output, and a 29 percent reduction in production costs per hour.
