During his opening remarks in Beijing, Ken Hu, Huawei's Rotating Chairman, said, "Europe is making amazing progress in digital transformation, and you are leading the global transition towards a greener future," described the progress being made by Europe in digital transformation.. In the past two decades, Huawei has been working with its European customers and partners side-by-side for more than 20 years.. In the past few years, we have made great progress connecting people, empowering businesses, and building the digital ecosystem of Europe.. As we move forward, we will continue to strengthen our support for digital transformation, local innovation, sustainability, and cyber security in Europe, as well as across the globe

He followed up with a keynote speech by Huawei Senior Vice President and President of the European Region where he presented four pillars for supporting Europe's twin transition: connectivity of everything, intelligent cloud, "bits manage watts", and open collaboration in order to better support the twin transition. According to Lu, Huawei is ready and willing to work with partners to provide better products and solutions to customers, and we will continue to do our part in supporting Europe's green and digital transition in the future."
Having everything connected and making all decisions based on data
Digital transformation relies heavily on the integration of everything with high-speed networks. This is especially true in industrial settings, where high-speed networks enable massive amounts of data to be transmitted, analyzed, and computed in real-time. Providing ultra-broadband connections to a wide range of different industrial scenarios is a major goal of Huawei's network solutions, which are resilient, intelligent, and lossless.
For example, Huawei worked with partners to help build Hungary's East-West Gate (EWG) Intermodal Terminal into the first 5G-powered logistics terminal in Europe. With ultra-high bandwidth, ultra-low latency, and high reliability, 5G enables completely automated and remote controlled overhead cranes for smart railway logistics. It is much safer, offers better working conditions, and runs 20 percent more efficiently now than it did before.
When everything is connected, the cloud is the engine that powers algorithms and massive computing power needed to help organizations become smarter. As Lu said, Huawei Cloud will continue investing in Europe and create new value for its customers and partners in the region. Huawei Cloud is amongst the fastest growing major cloud service providers in the world now with cloud nodes in both Ireland and Turkey."
We are helping Europe advance its green initiatives by managing watts with bits
"Europe is a global leader in the transition towards clean, green energy," Lu said. In order to increase the production of clean energy and promote the digitalization of energy systems, we have been working together to integrate digital and power electronics technologies for years now. As of today, Huawei has generated 228 billion kilowatt-hours of green electricity in Europe, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 102 million tons, and creating more than tens of thousands of high-value jobs at the same time."
A reliable partner in the green and digital transition in Europe: In Europe, for Europe
In terms of Huawei's global operations, Lu has stated that Europe is one of the most strategically important regions in the world. It is Huawei's commitment to remain customer-centric, create value for customers and partners, continue to strengthen innovative collaboration with European partners, help cultivate local digital and green talent, and continue to increase our R&D investment in Europe to meet the needs of our customers.. There is no doubt that we are looking forward to playing our part in accelerating Europe's green and digital transition.Lu concluded by calling for a fair, open, and inclusive environment for innovation to ensure the development of society as a whole.
