Plintron has created and deployed an in-house IP Multi-Media subsystems (IMS) platform in accordance with standards set by 3GPP and IETF, and has implemented the launch of VoLTE in Italy via the public cloud.

In order to support both legacy network components and IMS network components, the Plintron MVNE platform has been enhanced.

This is the first Multi-Host VoLTE solution in Public-cloud serving 9 MVNOs in Italy, and it was finished without any disruption to subscribers in September 2022.

Plintron is an end-to-end IMS solution that runs in the cloud and is tailored to route just the traffic of VoLTE subscribers to the IMS infrastructure. This reduces the need for additional infrastructure capacity to handle all the calls and prevents the practise of automatically forwarding all incoming calls to IMS regardless of the customer’s registration status. No modifications to the MNO network or the outside world are required for this solution, which was created in tandem with HLR/HSS and IN and relies on the MAP and CAP protocols.
