LOS ANGELES, Dec. 7, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Live Nation has expanded its partnership with SoLa Impact's affiliated foundation, the SoLa Foundation, by contributing to the construction of the second state-of-the-art youth center through an investment in their partnership, which will provide fully subsidized educational and workforce training opportunities in the entertainment and technology industries.
With Live Nation's support, SoLa Tech and Entertainment Center Powered by Live Nation will be able to complete the new campus as soon as possible. The new 8,500-square-foot technology and entertainment center will be built on the ground floor of the "Crenshaw Lofts," a workforce and affordable housing development owned by SoLa Impact and scheduled to open in early 2025.
By contributing to the SoLa Tech and Entertainment Center Powered by Live Nation, Live Nation will be able to complete the new campus that will be known as the SoLa Tech and Entertainment Center Powered by Live Nation. SoLa Impact's new 8,500-square-foot technology and entertainment center will be located on the ground floor of the 195-unit workforce and affordable housing development Crenshaw Lofts, which is due to open in early 2025.
As part of the Live Nation Next Gen Program, which will take place at the center, historically excluded youth (ages 16-21) from South LA will have the opportunity to explore careers in entertainment and production for 18 weeks. This program will provide students with the opportunity to learn about various aspects of live entertainment, from booking to marketing to operations, and more directly from Live Nation staff and executives.. As part of the program, Live Nation's School of Live will be partnering with the program. Sherri Francois, Chief Impact Officer of SoLa Impact and Executive Director of the SoLa Foundation, said, "We are incredibly inspired and encouraged by Live Nation's continued partnership and their commitment to diversity and inclusion across the live music industry and beyond.". In my opinion, this is another outstanding example of how mission-aligned corporate and nonprofit partners can work together to solve seemingly intractable challenges by working together with focus and determination to overcome them. With the help of Live Nation, the Crenshaw-LAX Corridor is going to become a hub of technology training and career development. It's only the beginning for us, and we're just getting started

"In spite of the fact that live music is an expanding industry, the School of Live is not a standard part of most schools and colleges," said Michael Rapino, President and CEO of Live Nation Entertainment. "We are partnering together with SoLa to provide kids with a platform to learn the business of music, and we help them gain first-hand experience, which opens up a whole new world of career opportunities, and it has been an honor to be a part of it."
