Meet some of the scientists collaborating on the research supporting the safe use of fragrance ingredients
After the success of last year's event, The Research Institute for Fragrance Materials (RIFM) will host its second virtual Annual Science Symposium on November 29, 2023, focused on international collaborations as a response to the success of last year's event. The 2nd Annual Science Symposium of the RIFM is now open for registration. It is RIFM's free interactive online Science Symposium that provides an in-depth look at how fragrance safety is supported by science According to Anne Marie Api, the RIFM's President, "RIFM has always prioritized collaborative research and safety evaluation, drawing upon the expertise of scientists around the world." Despite the fact that individual scientists have made world-changing discoveries, the overwhelming majority of scientific progress is the result of cooperation, including data sharing and collaboration.RIFM's Safety Assessment Manager, Danielle Botelho, concurs, "Our scientists strive to ensure that fragrances are safe to use while avoiding animal testing." Developing, refining, and verifying non-animal methods is heavily dependent on international collaborations. We provide fragrance safety stakeholders around the world with the opportunity to meet and discuss their ongoing work with some of our partners at the Science Symposium."A total of four collaborators have joined RIFM's Skin Sensitization Team for Breakout: New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for Potency Assessment in Skin Sensitization: Andy Forreryd (SenzaGen); Andreas Natsch (Givaudan); Cindy Ryan (ToxTech Solutions); and Shashi Donthamsetty (IFF).RIFM's Photo Safety Team is pleased to welcome Allison Hilberer (Institute for In Vitro Sciences) to the Strategic New Approach Methodologies in Photo Safety webinar.RIFM's Genotoxicity team has invited Stefan Pfuhler (Procter & Gamble) to speak on the work done on Naturals as a Collaboration in the HESI Botanical Safety Consortia (Genotoxicity Subgroup) as part of that consortium. The event will take place on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.You can register for the event here: https://events.hubilo.com/weve-got-it-covered/register
