More access to in-demand dark fibre routes will be made available in the burgeoning data centre hub of Hillsboro, Oregon, thanks to a new partnership between Flexential and Bandwidth Infrastructure Group (Bandwidth IG), one of the fastest-growing pure-play dark fibre providers. Flexential’s Portland – Hillsboro 2 data centre is now a part of Bandwidth IG’s growing Hillsboro-area dark fibre network. For clients and carriers using one of the most sought-after data centres, nicknamed as the “NAP of the Northwest,” the expansion will provide more capacity and varied routes.
At the Hillsboro 2 data centre, two new entrances that are now under development will provide connectivity for Bandwidth IG. When the services go live this spring, Flexential customers will be able to satisfy rising connection demands and ensure that they have access to the diversified, redundant dark fibre networks required to power contemporary enterprise applications. Broader access to the three more Flexential data centres in Hillsboro as well as other data centres in the area is made possible with the addition of Bandwidth IG’s dark fibre network. When fully built out, Flexential facilities in the area will offer over 100MW of actively deployed capacity, making them one of the biggest scale data centre footprints in Oregon. The increased connectivity will give users extra access to these facilities.
According to Bruce Garrison, CEO of Bandwidth IG, “Hillsboro is a fast growing portion of our network due to its position as a global hub for connectivity and computing.” “Delivering much-needed dark fibre services to hyperscalers, businesses, and other data centres in the area requires close collaboration with Flexential. Providing more varied pathways to additional Flexential data centres in Hillsboro would help us strengthen our connection.”
