It has been named NeuronTM, and this innovative product addresses the rapidly evolving mobility needs of software-defined vehicles.
As vehicles become more software-reliant, vehicles systems must support the extended software lifecycle by enabling software upgrades and prolonging the supporting hardware capability. In order to handle functions for assisted driving, cars rely on hardware and software computing platforms that process, share, sense, and generate insights from data. The NeuronTM HPC platform from Panasonic Automotive allows for not only software upgrades, but also hardware upgrades across a platform's lifecycle.
With the NeuronTM HPC, multiple computing zones can be consolidated in order to reduce the vehicle's cost, weight, and complexity by removing redundant components from the vehicle. The Panasonic Automotive design supports effortless up-integration thanks to its high-performance and heavy-duty data input processing capabilities. In addition to this, Panasonic Automotive's design is future-proof, upgradeable, and scalable across today's evolving in-vehicle platforms.
The Neuron HPC Architecture & DesignPanasonic Automotive's High Performance Compute architecture allows for a significant reduction in distributed ECU (electronic control unit) count by up to 80%1 - resulting in faster, lighter, cross-domain computing for real-time, cross-functional communications. As a result of the NeuronTM HPC design, it is suitable for any mobility platform, including internal combustion engines, hybrids, fuel cells, and electric vehicles.
