Phoenix, December 7, 2023 /PRNewswire/ -- Plug and Play accelerateAZ, a program of the Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA), has announced a new Sustainability program to support the growth of sustainability-oriented startups in Arizona. It is expected that the new program will launch in the Spring of 2024, after the Plug and Play Silicon Valley Summit took place in Sunnyvale, California.
The accelerateAZ Sustainability program will support startups in the areas of renewable energy, water resiliency, sustainable mining, circular materials, and carbon neutrality. Through this program, two batches of startups will be accelerated every year, connecting them with leading corporate partners to foster collaborations that are focused on sustainability.

There will be a new accelerationAZ Sustainability program that will complement the current accelerationAZ Advanced Manufacturing program in order to drive innovation, pilot new technologies, and build the resilient infrastructure of the future.. In October, the Advanced Manufacturing Accelerator program selected its second batch of Arizona startups following an Advanced Manufacturing Expo. The program offers startups the opportunity to complete a three-month curriculum that is focused on business development, strategic growth, and networking.. Earlier this year, Plug and Play accelerateAZ celebrated the opening of its Arizona office. As part of the first batch of Advanced Manufacturing startups, the startups were selected to develop solutions that focused on workforce training, supply chain visibility, predictive maintenance, robotics, and automation.
The Plug and Play accelerateAZ program, a program of the ACA, aims to contribute to the growth of the startup ecosystem in Arizona by building on the ACA's steadfast commitment. In addition to these efforts, Arizona Innovation Challenge has launched one of the largest business plan competitions in the country, the Arizona Innovation Challenge. As a result of that program, 130 of over 2,700 applicants have been awarded funds, representing a combined portfolio value of over $2.5 billion.
