Alif Semiconductor, a provider of low-power, safe, AI/ML-enhanced fusion processors and microcontrollers (MCUs), today announced a partnership with Telit, a leader in the Internet of Things (IoT).

The two companies will work together to deliver developer kits that offer cloud-connected hardware and software reference designs for a variety of distributed and IoT edge applications. The kits concentrate on wearables, smart homes, city infrastructure, biometric access management, and networked vision, voice, vibration, and sensor applications like AI cameras.
The kits use fusion processors and microcontrollers from the Alif Ensemble® family. Utilizing cutting-edge aiPMTM power management technology, ensemble devices sense their environment using initial AI/ML processing in a High Efficiency, always-on region, while a separate High Performance region wakes as needed to quickly handle additional heavy AI/ML workloads before going back to sleep. The Ensemble series offers smart power management in addition to several security layers built on a strong root-of-trust and secure identity for full lifecycle management managing keys, certificates, secure boot, remote updates, and more.

The wireless connectivity modules from Telit are included in the developer kits, ranging from Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to LTE and 5G cellular, as well as low-power wide-area (LPWA) products in Cat-M and NB-IoT for IoT applications that need less power and longer battery life. For the deployment of intelligent IoT edge devices that the kits and the technology will enable, the partnership also makes use of Telit’s cloud services and platforms to connect, manage, and protect them.
