Prior to the yearly international conference “Autism – The World of Opportunities” in November, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Felix Auger-Aliassime visited the Asylum Miras autism centre run by the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation in the capital of Kazakhstan.

The tennis players paid a visit to the centre earlier this month while competing in the ATP 500 tournament to show their support for the effort and to emphasise the significance of facilities that facilitate early diagnosis and treatment of autistic children as well as their social integration.

Djokovic, who went on to win the Astana Open, and the other tennis greats interacted with the kids at the facility while playing with them, giving them gifts, and receiving tennis-related artwork in return. The players also spoke with the parents of the kids, with whom they emphasised the value of early diagnosis and symptoms of autism, such as: B. A lack of language or interest in interacting with other kids, a propensity to arrange toys precisely or by colour.
