The landmark Marina Bay Sands in Singapore will host the 7th World One Health Congress (WOHC), the flagship international conference for advancing the One Health agenda, from November 7–11, 2022.

The Opening Address will be given by Mdm. Halimah Yacob, President of the Republic of Singapore, at the event’s Opening Ceremony on November 7.

The goal of the global One Health movement is to enhance health and wellbeing by averting and containing crises that result from the interaction between animals, people, and the environment. The theme of this year’s Congress, “Integrating Science, Policy and Clinical Practice: A One Health Imperative Post-COVID-19,” sponsored by Singapore’s SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) under the authority of the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, will advance multi-sectoral efforts and collaborations that advance a “whole of society” approach and perspective to health hazards and the management of risks. The Congress’s Pinnacle Sponsor is the Temasek Foundation.

On the first day, opening remarks will be given by Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, and Dr. Monique Eloit, Director-General of the World Organization for Animal Health. Over 120 speakers representing organisations from around the world, including the World Bank, Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will congregate to share their expertise and experiences in five separate scientific tracks that cover topics like One Health Science, Pandemic Preparedness, and Health Systems Resilience.

The Congress will provide a hybrid experience of in-person and virtual sessions with renowned keynote speakers, plenary talks by specialists, scientific sessions with abstract presentations and panel discussions on pressing and emergent themes. Leading scientists and policymakers will be joined by representatives from academic institutions, civil society, national governments, the private sector and multilateral organisations from around the world to integrate insights from diverse disciplines, including epidemiology and disease surveillance, animal production and trade, food safety, animal science, human health, environmental science/ecology and global health security.
