The Empire State Building hosts the annual Run-Up, powered by the Challenged Athletes Foundation and sponsored by Turkish Airlines.

The 44th annual Run-Up, powered by the Challenged Athletes Foundation and presented by Turkish Airlines, was held today at the Empire State Building (ESB) (CAF).

374 runners from across the globe competed in multiple predetermined heats as they raced the 1,576 stairs to the 86th Floor Observatory, the building’s renowned finish line.

According to Jean-Yves Ghazi, president of the Empire State Building Observatory, “We are inspired by the athletes from all over the world who train for and participate in this ultimate test of endurance every year.” Congratulations to everyone who attended the Empire State Building Run-Up at the “World’s Most Famous Building.”

With a time of 10:44, Soh Wai Ching of Malaysia won the Men’s Elite division ahead of Ryoji Watanabe of Japan and Fabio Ruga of Italy. The 28-year-old has now won the ESBRU twice in a row.
