A trailblazer in social impact marketing, The Vida Agency (TVA) has announced today that they have launched a groundbreaking model of community engagement called Shatter + ForgeTM, a pioneering approach to social impact marketing. The Shatter + Forge platform is a new and better way for companies, government agencies, and community organizations to gather feedback from diverse communities by connecting their voices to projects and policies directly affecting their lives.
With three levels of participation, Shatter + Forge weaves trust, respect, flexibility, and fair compensation into every interaction with our community members:

Shatter + Forge maintains a diverse and growing pool of individual Community Contributors who are willing to take part in surveys, focus groups, and interviews for compensation. It is beneficial for both companies and contributors to gain insight into projects and initiatives that have a direct impact on their communities, as well as to gain more meaningful feedback from the company.
As part of a TVA project, Community Networkers build relationships between organizations and individuals. Each of these individuals and organizations participates in a TVA project for up to 12 months. In addition to offering outreach support to Networkers, TVA also pays them directly for their expertise, as opposed to paying them stipends or gift cards. As a result of this structured approach to community involvement, respect is maintained for members of the community and burnout is prevented.
Shatter + Forge Equity Advisory BoardThe Shatter + Forge Equity Advisory Board holds TVA accountable for its social justice approach and practices. Their role involves identifying community issues, helping resolve issues, and utilizing their networks to ensure TVA builds and sustains strong relationships with its communities. It is also possible for board members to access information and programs that can benefit their communities as a result of this two-way street.
The 2020 reckoning on racial injustice and inequality was followed by a number of companies soliciting input from marginalized communities in burdensome ways," explained Amalia Martino, TVA's Founder and President.. The purpose of Shatter + Forge is to promote mutually beneficial interactions between public agencies, private companies, and the diverse communities they serve," said Martino.. "Shatter + Forge is a platform that was built by the community for the community". As part of our mission, we are committed to amplify the voices of the underserved and educating our clients on the importance of equitable compensation in the workplace
