Recon, a Minnesota-based provider of precast concrete licences, has joined forces with EV Blocks Ltd. in the UK to export universal precast charging base foundations to North America.
Given the need for more than 1.5 million charging stations by 2030 and the passage of the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, which will help finance the buildout, this alliance is timely.
The demand for EV Blocks precast foundations in the UK is being driven by a patent-pending design that is suitable for almost all Level 2 charger installations thanks to its universal top plate and side apertures for conduit installation. Due to its precast nature, installation is simpler and doesn’t require the time needed to lay and cure concrete foundations on-site. Precast blocks are made in advance in authorised facilities and arrive ready for installation, saving days of labour and the lead time required for raw material orders.
Recon is a precast product licensor with established light pole base and retaining wall solutions as well as a vast global network of knowledgeable precast producers, with a strong concentration in North America. Recon intends to extend its cutting-edge production solutions and committed support to precast concrete producers throughout North America in the upcoming months, and EV Blocks is ready to become the industry standard in EV charger foundations.
