The worldwide payment network organisation founded by Hana Financial Group, GLN International (GLN), inked an MOU with KB Kookmin Bank to join the network.
One of the biggest Korean banks, which has engaged in severe worldwide competition, made the decision to join with GLN to develop the network together.
By introducing the global mobile payment service in April 2019 and spinning off GLN International in July 2021 to support network business and ensure independence from its mother company, Hana Bank first offered GLN.
Through a partnership between GLN and local partners, Hana Bank’s Hana 1Q mobile banking application, which offers mobile payment service in Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Laos, Hong Kong, and Guam as well as mobile ATM withdrawal service in Japan, Vietnam, and Laos, provides GLN’s service.
Based on an MOU inked by GLN and KB, users of the KB Kookmin Bank applications KB Starbanking, LiivNext, and KB Wallet will also be able to use GLN’s cross-border mobile payment and withdrawal service.
