Today, Samsung Display unveiled its sustainability plan to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
To this purpose, the business most recently become a member of RE100, a global campaign to encourage the use of entirely renewable energy sources. In order to achieve net zero emissions by 2050, Samsung Display aspires to employ 100% renewable electricity at all of its domestic and international business locations.
In order to create differentiated low-power displays, such as the ECO2 (ECO Square) OLEDTM, a technology that increases panel brightness by internalising polarising plate functions while reducing power consumption by 25% to 52%, Samsung Display will use ongoing R&D and collaboration with international material companies.
Samsung Display will support the development of resource-circulated materials and process material recycling in order to protect irreplaceable resources like sand and water. It will also promote the circular economy ecosystem, a green economic model that aims for sustainability through resource conservation and recycling.
By recycling resources, cutting down on water waste, and using eco-friendly materials, Samsung Display intends to carry out its environmental policy through 2040.
