On National Manufacturing Day, Volvo Group North America hosted President Joe Biden at the Volvo Group Powertrain Operations site in Hagerstown, Maryland.

Throughout the occasion, Biden interacted with staff members, inspected the facilities, and met with Volvo Group executives.

Martin Weissburg, president of Mack Trucks and chairman of Volvo Group North America, said, “The Volvo Group is very happy to host President Biden at our Volvo Group Powertrain Operations today on National Manufacturing Day.” “National Manufacturing Day celebrates modern manufacturing, and our Hagerstown location is an excellent example of that because it offers cutting-edge transportation technology to satisfy client needs both now and in the future.”

The Volvo Group has made almost $320 million in the location during the previous ten years. Engines, transmissions, and axles for Mack Trucks, Volvo Trucks, Prevost motorcoaches, and Volvo Buses sold in North America are made on the Hagerstown site. The Modular Power Boxes (MPB) that power the Volvo VNR Electric and Mack LR Electric models, the Group’s newest zero-emission battery-electric vehicles, have also just started to be produced.
