In the past two decades, Whirlpool Corporation has been honored with this award.
As Kim Kavala, Whirlpool Corp. head of Inclusion and Diversity and global learning, says, "Our employees are the heart and soul of our company, and we believe supporting diverse voices throughout our organization will make us stronger." As a company, we have been a part of the Human Resources Council for a number of years and receiving a 100 score each year has been a testament not only to our meaningful work in this space, but also as a sign that we continue to do what's right for our employees.
There is no doubt that the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's CEI is a driving force behind LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion. Whirlpool Corp., with a score of 100, received the title of Equality 100 Award: Leader in LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion for its efforts.
The CEI rates companies on a set of detailed criteria based on four central pillars: non-discrimination policies across business entities; equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families; supporting an inclusive work environment; and corporate social responsibility for the company as a whole.. The Whirlpool Corporation. The company met all the criteria required under those categories, including the implementation of policies prohibiting discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, the same-sex and different-sex spousal and domestic partner medical benefits being equal, as well as the existence of a Pride Network, an established employee group.
